Year 2011 was a busy one full of intrigues, changes, and unfortunately, tragedies. As a year ender, here are some of the tragic news that really trended in the Metro.
1. TYPHOON PEDRING
Pedring really scared the hell out of the people in Metro Manila in September as tsunami-like waves hit the coast, crashing over sea walls. Cars and vehicles were stuck in the middle of the flood waters, as the waves get into the highway, turning it into a huge river. Even hospitals were flooded, which forced the staffs to transfer patients into higher floors. The waves hammered the coastline of Manila's historic baywalk, which collapsed portions of the seawall.
2. SM North EDSA Killing
Abel, workong as a sales clerk in the mall, was shot dead by her wife Shiela Macapugay on September 14. The wife said that her husband left her for another woman and failed to support their children financially. The guard, who tried to calm her down was also killed.
3. Ramgen Revilla's Death
Son of a former senator, Ramgen Revilla was shot dead in his own room. His girlfriend, Janelle Manahan was shot on her face but lived. Ramgen's story is believed to like that of Cain and Abel's, a sibling rivalry. It is said that Ramgen told his father about his mother's more than 2million credit card debt, causing friction to the family. His brother Rj was arrested while his sister Ramona, who became popular and trending to the netizens because of her different and unstable stories about what happened to her brother, fled to another country.
